Gather & Play: A Journey with Jesus - Who are we? BIC Core Values

Thank you for choosing to explore Gather & Play: A Journey with Jesus. This curriculum is designed to engage children, youth, and families in an interactive and intergenerational journey through the Brethren in Christ Core Values Each lesson is thoughtfully crafted to help participants encounter Scripture, reflect on its meaning, and respond in ways that nurture their faith.

What’s Included in Each Lesson

For each of the sections, you will find:

A Children’s Lesson, following a consistent and engaging format:

A Tabletop Craft to spark curiosity and introduce the theme

A Quieting the Space moment with a candle lighting and simple song

A Bible Story, brought to life with storytelling and interactive props

Wonder Questions, inviting children to reflect on the lesson

Response Time Options, allowing for creative and personal engagement

A Closing Reflection, reminding children of God’s presence beyond the lesson

A Toddler Adaptation, providing a simplified version of the lesson with age-appropriate activities.

A Youth Adaptation, designed to engage older students with deeper discussion, interactive elements, and personal reflection AND a BONUS YOUTH CURRICULUM

A Family Devotional, equipping parents and caregivers to continue theconversation at home.

NOTE: A draft of a Toddler board book entitled "Who are We?" is included with this download. We are hoping to be able to offer printed copies next year.

Flexible & Adaptable for Your Community

All response activities are suggested options, not required, and can be adapted based on the needs and interests of your group. Likewise, the suggested songs can be replaced with music that best fits your church’s culture and worship style. This curriculum is meant to be a resource, not a script. Feel free to make it your own, ensuring it reflects the unique gifts and traditions of your faith community.
